Quotes about Children

The other day I was reading through some of my favorite quotes about children and I thought today I would just share some of them with you. With all the disagreements between political parties today I do hope the one thing we can all come together on is our children. I think I will start with:

“Children are one-third of our nation – and all of our future.”
Panel for the Promotion of Child Health, 1981

“Children are not distractions from important work, they are the most important work.”
C.S.Lewis

“The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith.”
Billy Graham

“Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.”
J.F. Kennedy

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.”
Nelson Mandela

“To maintain a joyful family requires much from both the parents and the children. Each member of the family has to become, in a special way, the servant of the others.”
Pope John Paul II

“Don’t worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you.” (that one has a little humor but it still makes me think each time I read it)
Robert Fulghum

This one is for my husband the biologist – “A true conservationist is a man who knows that the world is not given by his fathers, but borrowed from his children.”
John James Audubon

My husband says this is always a sobering one for him – “It is easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father.
Pope John XXIII

“We spend the first twelve months of our children’s lives teaching them to walk and talk and the next twelve telling them to sit down and shut up.” – sorry I just had to put in this one by the comedian:
Phyllis Diller

“Children do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
Teddy Roosevelt

And my last one today is by Fred Rogers, I miss him – “Anyone who does anything to help a child is a hero to me.”

Very awesome!. I’ve made mistakes …failures. However , one learns from their failures and passes it on what is good. Thank you for sharing.
